ヨーガ・スートラ2-43

【2-43】　苦行を行ずるならば、身心の不浄が消え去るから、身体と緒感官の超自然的能力があらわれる。

Through self discipline (tapas), mental impurities are destroyed and the body and senses take on supernatural powers. ||43||

<解説>身体の超自然的能力（siddhi）といえば、おもいのままに身体を小さくしたりする能力、感官の超自然的能力といえば、極微なものやかくされているものが見えるとか、遠隔のものが見えたり聞こえたりするとかいう能力のことである。
